Confession - Sermon

Dave DeVries writes:

“Put off your old self” scripture repeatedly urges. We have to know ourselves before we can put off our old self. When confession becomes specific and a discipline we practice, transformation happens.

I find that after confession-- and at times when I am truly broken for my sin, I am able to experience REAL joy. I find this type of true joy only comes from the Holy Spirit.

When I realize how much He loves me and then meditate on His promises, I am often brought to tears.

When I am humbled before Him, I am also able to love others more, and I am motivated to share the good news of the gospel with the lost.

My heart is pure after confession and I am then in a position to walk even closer to Him and others.

In Christ, Kristine

Like Kristine says, confession of wrongs, when we are truly broken(that's key),is a truly freeing feeling. The "weight" that is removed from our hearts and the joy that replaces it is worth the fear that we have of confessing.

When we confess our sins to Jesus with a truly repentant heart we are starting new with a blank slate~Jesus does not hold grudges. He truly forgives us and tries so hard to make us right with Him again. Blessings, Rose
